WHen I click it, the system kinda hangs and then I get an error saying "The request faild because the remote server took too long to respond. So I erased my flash bios. No BIOS extensions.

Read speeds are fine! Writing sucks bad: Write speed are MB a second, and the mouse freezes when writing: Probably something about going into compatibility mode. I don't know WHY there is a such a difference between read and write speed, since read must also drop down into DOS; maybe when writing it does an extra step like flush some hardware buffer or something. So on a hunch, I took the raid version sir. I don't have time right now to plug in any SATA drives and see if it's working - I'll do that later tonight.


I haven't acquired too many files yet for the chip or sata cards, but what I have so far seem to sil 3512 sata just "r" files, as in sir. The problem is the compatibility with Windows 98 got dropped in both driver sets, quite a few years ago.


So, the newer controller versions are no longer covered by the drivers for Windows I do not know if reflashing the controller BIOS to older version can affect the driver compatibility problem. When i didnt attached an drive to it, i simply didnt get the flash option in the properties of that card!! Even though sil 3512 sataevery driver wos installed correctly for that card no hardware conflicts wotsoever!!
